CONTACTS

Hannu Prinz, Brusseks Cologne Contemporaries 2014

Hannu Prinz
(b.1978, Germany) lives and works in Berlin.

The works of Hannu Prinz are sculpted canvases. They explore the different properties of leather transformed into essential pictorial material. These voluntarily ornamental compositions are inspired by everyday objects, which surround the artist, or by images, which have marked his life. The influence of music, poetry, gestural
abstraction etc, on Prinzs work results in unique artworks with strong visual effects that ironically reference traditional painting. German Romanticism has an additional significant footprint in Prinzs practice.
