Kristof Kintera (1973) is probably the most challenging and most respected artist working today in Czech Republic. His artworks mainly explore the boundaries of contemporary sculpture. His practice unfolds from public installations to small kinetic devices. He also deals with the reification of material and the transformation of everyday objects that both convey anthropomorphically referenced attitudes. He shapes the hidden spirituality within things and reinvents its mythologies imagining absurd possibilities of life and unrealistic uses. Accidental encounters between two objects tend to create polysemous interpretations of the surrounding world. The artist also accentuates the conflict relationship between objects and their common context.
